Hay cientos de libros acerca de c�mo cuidar un beb�. Como padre primerizo, quer�a leer alguno y no sab�a cu�l. Siendo que trabajo en inform�tica, estoy acostumbrado a leer manuales de equipos y software. Mi hermano, me regal� este mismo libro en ingl�s y yo compr� este para mi esposa. Ella hab�a le�do varios, pero este fue el que m�s le gust�. Est� escrito en forma muy amena, con mucho humor y varios gr�ficos estilo "a�os 50 y 60" como ejemplos. Explica las cosas como un manual t�cnico lo har�a, pero con much�simo humor como mencion� anteriormente. Ense�a a cuidar nuestro beb� desde antes de nacer y hasta pasado el primer a�o. No por estar escrito con humor o en forma de manual t�cnico tiene poco rigor cient�fico, su autor es un pediatra y su hijo. Ah, es de tama�o "paperback", lo que permite llevarlo f�cilmente y leerlo en los ratos libres (yendo y viniendo del trabajo en bus o tren).

This is a wonderful book. I’ve taught spiritual theology many years and I wish I had had this text use. In fact, I wish I had written this book. About the Author
Dr. Anthony Lynn Lilles is a graduate of Franciscan University of Steubenville, and completed his graduate and post-graduate studies at the Angelicum. He has worked in Northern Colorado for over twenty years in various parishes and the Office of Liturgy for the Archdiocese of Denver. After having served as Academic Dean of St. John Vianney Theological Seminary, he is currently an associate professor of theology. Most of his research has been devoted to the spiritual doctrine of Blessed Elisabeth of the Trinity O.C.D. and the Carmelite Doctors of the Church. A married father of three, he is grateful to God for his family and for the life they share at the foot of the Rocky Mountains.

A New Spiritual Classic

This books is a true gift! Reading this book once won't be enough. The spirituality of great Carmelites like Theresa of Avila, John of the Cross, and Elizabeth of the Trinity is described in ways that is easy to understand yet rich in meaning and depth. If you are looking for more than "just the facts" and want a book that will set your heart on fire with love for God, this is it. It is a wonderful guidebook for our spiritual journey, helping us to understand where we are now, where we have been, and where we are going. It is a nice thing to know that one is on the right path, because there can be times of discouragement as we move along the way to our Beloved. This book is an antidote to discouragement, full of hope and beautiful descriptions of God's love for us and our journey to become closer to Him. This book probably won't make it to my bookshelf but will remain in the stack of favorites that I like to keep within easy reach.

Excellent exploration of contemplative/meditative prayer

I love this book and am already rereading portions of it for inspiration and encouragement. It begins with explanations of prayer and of our relationship with God. Then it gets into deep discussions of contemplation and meditative prayer, opening up the mysteries revealed by God to Blessed Elizabeth of the Trinity, St. Therese of Lisieux, St. John of the Cross, St. Teresa of Avila, and others. For those of us who are not called to do great, active things in the world, but who are called to prayer and intimacy with the Lord, who love to spend time with Him, and to know His love and mercy, and who long to bring others to Him through prayer and through our relationships, and who believe that He heals the world through our prayers and those of others of us who are hidden with Him, this is a fabulous book.
